Primates, such as humans, apes and monkey, have sweat glands all over their bodies. In contrast, the eggs of amphibians lack a hard outer covering. Amphibians are the evolutionary step that happened when animals left the oceans and lakes and came on to land. Or it may move slowly and quietly along a branch or the ground. The primary adaptations to life on land occurred in the Paleozoic 360-400 mya (million years ago) with the evolution of amphibians. Agnathans, or jawless fish, were the earliest fish: an excellent fossil of Haikouichthys ercaicunensis dates back about 530 million years, to the Cambrian.
