Just to amplify why it's not right, you forgot that F and v are vectors. The writing is clear, concise, and very readable. These functions are declared in lualib.h and should not be called directly: you must call them like any other Lua C function, e.g., by using lua_call. Even those who don’t specialize in the field will find it a joy to read this book. In Chapter 1, the authors review the essentials of Newtonian calculus and establish the format of presentation that they follow in the later chapters on the various non-Newtonian calculi.
